A new wine label is targeting South American soccer fans in Australia. The 2014 River Malbec is only the latest in a series of “soccer teams” wines that have come out of South America in the past years. These signature wines are taking aim at the growing Hispanic market in the world, and Australia is not the exception.
Club Atlético River Plate chose Finca Agostino Winery to develop the project last year. Finca Agostino, located in Maipú – Mendoza (Argentina) counts on a total capacity of 3.000.000 litres. Its vineyards estates are privileged and internationally recognised areas, providing grapes that are exclusively used for the elaboration of its famous wines.
Malbec River is a varietal wine aged in oak for 6 months. A deep violet coloured wine with dark fruits, blackberry and plum aromas combined with hints of vanilla and toast. Soft and silky tannins surround sumptuous dark plum flavours and lead to a long, lingering finish.
River Malbec and all Finca Agostino range is distributed in Australia through www.artisanmalbec.com.au
